What is Therapy?
Therapy can help with those who are dealing with mental illnesses and/or emotional challenges. Some challenges that therapy may help with include: adjustment issues, trauma, medical illness, death of a loved one, and specific mental disorders. Therapy can help/control symptoms to function better and increase healing. Therapy is often conducted in different modality, individual, family, couple, or group. Therapy can either be short-term or long-term.

Does Therapy Work?
Many studies show that people who receive therapy have an increase in symptoms relief as well as better functioning of their lives. Therapy has also been shown to improve the emotions and behaviors as well as positive change in the mind and body.
Why Should I Go to Therapy?
Research shows that only about 40% of people with mental health issues actually get help. Mental health issues that are untreated can worsen and also may lead to:

What is Confidentiality and its limits?
All services are confidential. Any information discussed in session can not be released without the individual's consent. However, there are some exceptions. Confidential information may be disclosed if the clinician feels that there is the possibility of serious harm being inflicted by the individual on themselves or to someone else. Clinicians are also mandated reporters for child abuse, elderly abuse, and dependent abuse. Another exception to confidentiality is when there is appropriate subpoena issued by an attorney or judge.
